Temporary Entry Visa

A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is an official document issued by a Canadian visa office that is placed in your passport to show that you have met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident (visitor, student, or worker).

Types of Temporary Resident Visas

  1. Single-Entry Visa: Allows you to enter Canada once. After you leave Canada, except to travel to the United States or St. Pierre and Miquelon, you will need a new visa to enter Canada again.

  2. Multiple-Entry Visa: Allows you to enter and leave Canada multiple times until the visa expires. This is the most common type of visa and is typically valid for up to 10 years or one month before your passport expires, whichever comes first.
